I∩tersect: Physics Rap
August 11th, 2008 | Published in I∩tersect
Monday’s are a bit slow going in the lab, which is why the mornings are often spent catching up on blogs, funny videos and other non-science related activities. My co-worker Mike came upon this video, a rap about the Large Hadron Collider (LHC).

So what are my thoughts? I think this is funny, clever, entertaining and informative. It’s edutainment at its finest. The brains behind this video is Katherine McAlpine, a science journalist currently based out of Geneva. This rap isn’t random or a dedication to this large and impressive contraption from afar, Katherine has a connection to the collider. She’s currently in charge of writing about the ATLAS experiments on the LHC. Ms. McAlpine goes into the idea of physics rap on her website, “While accuracy in both science and reporting is serious business, the science itself should be fun. That’s why I think physics rap is the next big thing.” That’s simply brilliant.
